Monkey Business

As promised.. here is my my finished animation. It its simply a monkey in love with tea and another monkey.

Wiki Experience

In the Contemporary Media Issues module we were set the task of designing our own wiki on the book "A Theory of Fun" by Raph Koster. We were put into groups of threes and foursand the task was about 'collective inteligence' and all of us combining together to create the wiki, each with our own individual knowledge and input. We then had to present our wikis to the class. I found the task quite useful and feel its a good way of explaining something simply, in the form of a wiki. Animation

In Digital Media Tools we have currently been doing animation. We were set the task of making an inanimate object come to life. In our group we have chosen to bring the PG tips monkey to life along with some of his friends. I will post the finished piece on here when it is complete.

AVID

Today and yesterday my group and I used 'AVID' editing software for the first time ever. At first we hated it and got really frustrated as we couldn't use it at all and lots of things kept going wrong. After persevering with it, we eventually got the hang of it and managed to begin to piece together our film. after hours of fiddling about with the software, we managed to get a rough cut in on time. I now have a better understanding of the software so when we come to produce our final cut it will not take as long and after doing the remainder of filming that is needed, we can get together again and produce a good quality film.

Filming - People On The Move

As today is the deadline for our rough cuts to be screened, throughout the past few week my group and I have been filming for this. I have never used this particular camera before so as you can imagine I found it rather tricky too use. However, after a short period of time using it I got the hang of it and found it easy too use. This made filming quite enjoyable and interesting as i was finding out new things and learning new skills.

Concept Extraction

Last week, we looked at Edward De Bono's lateral thinking which is known as 'Concept Extraction', It inolves concepts to generate new ideas. The willingness to look for ideas, even when it doesn't seem necessary, is 'the essence of creativity' according to Bono.

Concepts are general ideas about how to do a certain thing. Bono's idea is to generate creative and original ideas by thinking of a variety of different ways to create certain concept. Then, tocreate more ideas from this basic concept.

Photoshop

Today i used Potoshop for the first time. I didn't have a clue how to use it as you can probably tell from the quality of my images. Here are the images I chose to edit.

 

Prezi

Prezi

Last week I used 'Prezi' for the first time. For the task we were put into groups and had to produce a presentation on it about the objects that we brought in that meant something to us. Because i had never used Prezi before, it was slightly confusing at first. However, I got used to it pretty quick and found it easy to use.
